a little update

Well we made it back from the Dr. He said she looked good. She was running a low grade fever but her lungs were clear and she look good. He said that if for some reason they missed it in lung we will know in a couple days she will get very sick. So we just have to watch her and check her stools for the missing ring...Thanks for all the prayers. I pray this scary ordeal is over. ;)

some of the longest hours of my life!!

This day has been one of the craziest days ever.. and it's still not over. I am on my computer trying to pass time and not think about the fact the Dr still has not called back. With all that said let me fill you in. Yesterday evening Taya and Rucy came screaming up the stairs the baby's choking!!! Kendra our three yr old walked all the way up stairs well not breathing choking on a plastic ring. When she got to the top of the stairs she was gagging , coughing and really raspy. It took me some time to calm her down to get her side of what she ate or didn't eat. She sweetly tells me I ate my ring. it's huge!! She is was coughing and sticking her fingers down the back of her throat and saying it was right there just get it mommy. I quickly gabbed my shoes Thur her into the car and ran to urgent care but they wouldn't take her. So I packed back up and went to Kadlic ER. We got there around 8:15pm. They did x-rays and at first the nurse who took it thought it looked good. Well around 10:30pm We still had not seen the DR again. He was talking in the hall way he kept saying I need a second pair of eyes on this one. Around 11:30pm he came in and told us he felt that the ring was in her right lung!! Scary!! He showed me on the screen and had four more look at it to conform this. He said Tri-cities couldn't do the surgery needed and we were going to either Seattle or Spokane. We were shipped off to Spokane. We had to ride in ambulance all the way there. Do to the fact that it was in her lung and complications could happen.
We get to the peds ER in Spokane and they check us in and they look at the x-ray from Tri-cities and say they don't see anything. That there is a white dot but he thinks it is calcium build up?! Ok, I am not a DR but it looked like a ring. Anyway the ear, nose and throat expert still wanted to do the surgery and see if she can find it. So at 7:30am She is shipped off to surgery. 40 mins later the surgeon comes back and say she cant find it!!! Darn, she feels as though it must be in her stomach. She will have to pass it. So we go back to the room and they say she can go home when she eats and drinks. We were heading home to Tri-cities by 11:00am. two and half hrs later we get home and take kendra out of her car seat and she now is running a 102.6 fever!! I call her DR. And he still hasn't called back I am going stir crazy!! So that's my crazy evening..I still have had only one hour of sleep...Life is just simply crazy sometimes!!

a update....

So we are now moving onto 11 months home. Wow, I can't believe it. This journey has been a very long one. Not that all parenting is easy. But raising a child who has had some one else influenced her for the last 12 years has not been easy. Not that the Lord ever said it would be easy...
School has started and things do seem to be getting easier. Kali, (Kalkidan) has now started 7th grade and is doing OK. She still has allot to learn about American culture, language and just life. But what 12 yr old doesn't. She has improved so much on her social skills, I couldn't be more happy for that. She seems to want to keep Friends, that she is making now. she has getting a little better about learning to keep her hands to her self. She still feels that we have to many rules and doesn't like to follow them. last week She started to open up on God. She started the Jr. high youth group and I am hoping that will help tons. The more she realizes that all girls her age has rules and exceptions of them, things to get easier. also she seems to be excepting the fact that she is here and the oldest girl here too. We hope to start counseling for her soon, now that she knows English better. (to help her deal with her life circumstances.)
Rucy, (eyerusalem) is doing so good. She has her bad days like any kid but most of the time she is enjoyable. She started third grade again and is doing OK. Taya and her are now acting like sisters. they fight like sisters, they make up like sisters, and play like sisters. They love playing on the same team for soccer. She has tons of friends at church and school. I think what has helped Rucy is the fact that she had excepted her spot almost right away. Compared to her oldest sister. She seems to fit right in with almost any group of kids. She may still want allot of attention at times but all her little things are manageable and not harmful to any one. She has been such a blessing to this family.
The boys have started football and love it. Jethro has to play up on the B squad. He is the smallest boy on his team but he does great and holds his own. Isak is doing really well this year too. School has been very hard for Isak to adjust to. So much bigger of a school and things are done different. He is a trooper no big complains. Just not really happy with being there. Taya, is adjusting to the second grade class great. She loves to jump in and join most things. She a little shy at school but has not stopped her from making friends. And my baby is doing great. Enjoying every moment of mom by her self.
I guess that's all for now. I look forward to being with my family for my brother Quentin's wedding this October. I get to go by self.. A good and bad thing. I wish Steven was coming. But he has to hold the fort down. Love and God bless all of you- Crystal
Ps. Yes we still are dealing with the horrid ring worm...who knows if it will ever go away.
